LONDON--Reliance Aviation Services has won an order to serve as sole contracted provider of aviation security services at London City Airport.
The initial three-year contract will see Reliance provide a range of aviation security services including vehicle checkpoint security, staff searches, hand baggage screening, hold baggage screening and airport patrols.
London City Airport's passenger numbers increased by 12 percent year on year in 2008 and that trend is expected to continue as the 2012 Olympics approach.
Commenting on the deal in a statement, Reliance's general manager Adrian Lee said "We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this high profile contract and are committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that London City's unique passenger base receives a first class service."
