LIVERPOOL, UK--Multilink Access Control Systems, a specialist in the design and delivery of access control solutions, has completed an installation at the Expect Community Project here incorporating both fingerprint and facial recognition technology.
Expect renovated an old public library building into a local community center, which includes a fully equipped IT room.
"We usually get requests for biometric systems with just fingerprint readers, so to install a system with two different biometric systems and then make them come together in one big system is a first," MultiLink director Mike Castro.
The Multilink-designed system comprises the DDS Toplock 4 control system coupled with its own Amadeus 5 software, the Smarti Diadem face recognition system from Tag Systems, which won the award for best access control product at the IFSEC exhibition this year, and 9 Suprema BioNet fingerprint readers.
The building's fire alarm system is also connected to the Toplock system so if fire breaks out, all the doors will open, allowing anyone inside to escape without having to open a door.
