      VideoIQ moves into UK, Ireland

MANCHESTER, UK—VideoIQ, a U.S.-based manufacturer of what it bills as “the world’s first and only intelligent surveillance cameras and encoders with built-in video recording,” has announced its expansion into the UK with an exclusive distribution deal covering the UK and Ireland.

To mark the launch of the new distribution partnership, the company recently held a seminar at High Legh Country Park in Knutsford, with Gary Pfeiffer, vice-president of VideoIQ sales, who outlined the benefits of VideoIQ technology.

According to Gary Mercer, who is heading up the new UK distribution partnership, despite rising interest, IP cameras and analytics continue to run up against storage and bandwidth issues. “Video analytics and IP cameras are experiencing unprecedented growth, yet issues surrounding significant storage and bandwidth requirements have stood in the way of their potential,” he said in a statement.

According to Mercer, VideoIQ answers those problems by eliminating the need to purchase several DVRs and NVRs, since built into every VideoIQ camera is a DVR with 160 gigabytes of recording, which he said “allows high quality recording of critical events together with sophisticated, yet easy-to-use content-based video search. Clients who don’t have bandwidth issues can archive and upload in the conventional way, he added.
