Milestone expands its vocabulary |

COPENHAGEN--IP video management software specialist Milestone Systems announced on Monday the launch of new versions of its XProtect Enterprise (XPE) 6.5 with support for H.264 compression technology and more than a dozen languages.
The latest version of XPE supports an array of European languages, including Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Swedish, as well as Arabic, Chinese and Korean. The language function covers the Smart Client graphical user interface, online help function, installation procedures and some Remote Clients.

"The multiple languages are a real boon for larger installations, where the central surveillance system administrator may have no problem with using English in the system setup and maintenance, but local users of the IP video management software would prefer to work in their own language," the company said in a statement. "Daily work procedures become even easier to manage, and the security monitoring therefore more effective and responsive."
The new version of XPE 6.5 also frees up more bandwidth without lowering image quality via H.264, MxPEG and MPEG4 ASP technologies, while two-way audio lets operators communicate verbally while viewing people remotely.
