SIG-EMEA bolsters portfolio with HID |

HOOFDDORP, Netherlands--The Security Integrators Group (SIG-EMEA), which operates as a distributor of security products and a consultancy pairing integrators and end users in countries across Europe, recently announced the addition of HID products to its portfolio.
The addition of HID products came via a client request, Frans Heijmans, operations director at SIG-EMEA, told Security Systems News Europe. "Our client, Adobe, asked if we could channel HID readers in Europe, as they were using specific HID Indala readers, so we took it up with HID and we now have a partnership in place to distribute their whole product line across Europe," explained Heijmans. The move will "strengthen the position of SIG-EMEA's network of integration partners" across the continent, as the range and quality of HID products is well known, he added.
STORY CONTINUES BELOWAdvertisement In addition to its distribution business, SIG-EMEA, which will celebrate its first anniversary in August of this year, operates another division that deals with what it terms "management services." In this area, the company draws on the experience of its three founding partners, who came from Diebold's integration operations in the UK and the Netherlands, providing consultancy services for companies looking to implement security systems for their offices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Acting as a single point of contact for all the activities, services and products a client may need, SIG-EMEA's services run the gamut from consultancy and design to proposal management, project management and service management.
With that in mind, SIG-EMEA acts as a "kind of contractor" for a client such as Adobe that wants to roll out security at it's European branches. SIG-EMEA will find local integrators with knowledge of the products and systems the client already uses or wants to use in Europe, solicit bids from them, judge the offers and make a shortlist with a recommendation to the client.
The big difference between SIG-EMEA and other companies that provide systems design and consultancy services is that they make sure their local integration partners "take ownership" of the site, so that the client can rely on them for future service and maintenance, explained Heijman. "[The integrators] deliver the whole site," he said. "They're certified and have better product knowledge than the local installer who may be familiar with local products, but not with Lenel or GE or systems like that."
SIG-EMEA has partner integrators in nearly every European country, from the UK across the continent to Russia and Turkey.
