Westminster Group expands in Middle East, Asia
BANBURY--Westminster Group, a systems integrator based here and operating in the security, defense and fire protection markets, has opened new offices in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Malaysia in order to take better advantage of growth opportunities in the regions.

Westminster's new UAE headquarters is in central Abu Dhabi near the Emirates Palace and will complement the company's regional headquarters in the Emirates Towers in Dubai.

The new office in Malaysia is located in the 88-floor Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

In addition to the new offices, Westminster has appointed Adam Wilding-Webb as the company's new regional director. He will be based at the Dubai office.

Westminster focuses on niche products and services in some of the most rugged and remote areas of the world, including across Africa and Latin America as well as the Middle East. The company employs a business model that involves establishing an "agent network" in the far-flung places in which it operates, explained CEO Peter Fowler. "These agents are quite critical because they provide in-country knowledge, intelligence and logistics when we send goods or have people traveling there, and they're also our local labor source, so that makes us a very scaleable business."

Fowler said that the Middle East would be driving Westminster's growth over the next couple of years and that two or three significant new projects there were very "close to fruition."
