Assa Abloy acquires U.S.'s Rockwood
STOCKHOLM--Assa Abloy announced last week that it has acquired Rockwood Manufacturing Company, a producer of standard and custom decorative and specialty door hardware based in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A family-owned business, Rockwood has been doing business since 1946 and employs 150 people. The company expects to post sales of USD 48mln (EUR 30.4mln) in 2008.

Commenting on the acquisition in a statement, Assa Abloy president and CEO Johan Molin said: "I am very pleased that Rockwood is joining the Assa Abloy Group, and with the addition we take another important step in our strategy to provide total door solutions on the American non-residential market."
