MILAN--An Italian systems integration and installation firm has expanded its pan-European partner network, adding two new members in Ireland and Romania and will hold its first partner meeting here this week. Mega Italia, which has a major presence across Italy with some 60 business points comprising six branch offices and a franchise network, launched its plan to expand that network across Europe at the Italian national security show Sicurezza at the end of 2008. The newest members to join the pan-European network are Ireland's Active Technology and Romania's UTI Retail Solutions, Mega Italia's maketing manager Laura Ratner told Security Systems News Europe. Established in 1997, Active Technology is based in Shannon and specializes in the installation and maintenance of fire and security systems, including CCTV, automatic gates, door access control and intruder alarms. UTI Retail Solutions is a unit of the Bucharest-based UTI Group's security and defense systems division, which, with 1,200 employees, is one of Romania's leading security systems integration firms. As Mega Italia's domestic clients began expanding abroad, Mega Italia decided that a partner network would be the best way to continue to provide services for those clients at their new locations while guaranteeing the high standards Mega Italia's clients in Italy have come to expect, explained Ratner. Mega International correspondents are proficient in the four areas of activity in which Mega Italia is involved: CCTV, anti-intrusion, fire prevention and access control. The two newest members to the correspondent network in Romania and Ireland bring the total number of network partners to 11, Ratner said. The full network will gather for its first formal meeting in Milan on Friday, May 8. Mega Italia also has partners in Poland, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Malta.
