Acro expands with new distributor deal for Turkey

ISTANBUL--Acro, a developer of explosive detection solutions with headquarters in Israel and the United States, has appointed the Bensan Mumessillik Import, Export, Industry and Trade company as a distributor for its products on the Turkish market.

The deal is in line with Acro's plans to expand its reach around the world, according to the company's chief marketing officer, Shai Markevitch. "The appointment of a distributor in Turkey is an important milestone in our global marketing expansion efforts and fulfillment of our channels strategy," he said in a statement.

Bensan Mumessillik managing director Yomtov Soryano indicated that the threat of terrorism in the country would drive demand for Acro's products. "Turkey has suffered from terrorism and we are convinced that Acro-P.E.T. [the company's peroxide explosive detector product] will help the Turkish security forces fight terror by better detecting improvised explosive devices," he said.

Acro's Acro-P.E.T. is able to identify peroxide-based explosives like Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), which are nearly impossible to single out due to their lack of nitro groups or colors and the fact that they can come in a variety of shapes and forms, including liquid.
